Bastian Schweinsteiger hails Old Trafford power

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger warns Wolfsburg that "it's not easy" to play at Old Trafford ahead of Wednesday's Champions League meeting.

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has said that Old Trafford 'is a difficult stadium' to play in for opposing teams.

Schweinsteiger played and scored at Old Trafford when the German represented Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2014.

The 31-year-old now wears the red of Man United, however, and has said that "the power of the supporters" gives the team an advantage on home soil.

"I remember when I came here first time with Bayern, it wasn't an easy first 10 minutes. It's not easy to play here first time, especially in the Champions League," Schweinsteiger told reporters. "You can feel the power of the supporters. It's good for us but we have to play well."

Schweinsteiger was speaking to the media ahead of Man United's second Champions League Group B match against Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
