Alex Ferguson has said that he was pleased with Manchester United's performance after their 1-1 draw with Benfica on Wednesday.
The Premier League champions went behind to Oscar Cardozo's strike, before Ryan Giggs became the oldest scorer in Champions League history with a drilled effort.
"Once we scored, we played well," the Scot told reporters.
"Our possession was too cautious in the first half. It was the kind of possession that gives you a certain control but doesn't win you the game."
United will now look ahead to Sunday when they host Chelsea in the League at Old Trafford.
