Jonny Evans not expecting to face Bayern Munich

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans admits that he is unlikely to be fit enough for Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has claimed that he is unlikely to play against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.

The centre-back recently returned to action for United's Under-21s after missing the last two months with a calf injury.

However, Evans believes that tomorrow's second leg at the Allianz Arena has come too quickly for him to be involved.

"It was nice to go out there and play as we've got a big game coming up on Wednesday in Munich," he told the club's official website. "I don't know if I'll be involved or not. Maybe it's touch and go on that but I just hope the lads can do well and get a good result.

"In terms of my injury, it may have come too soon for me but, in terms of excitement-wise, the game cannot come quickly enough - especially for the fans and players. Everyone is looking forward to it."

United travel to Germany having drawn 1-1 with defending champions Bayern at Old Trafford last week.
