It had been speculated that the Spanish club were preparing an offer for the 27-year-old, but he is understood to have made it clear that he wants to remain at City.

According to The Sun, the Argentine will be handed a new contract following his impressive end to the season.

Zabaleta's new deal could fetch him £75,000 per week.
