Manchester United plot £15m Jordi Alba bid?

Manchester United are reportedly planning a £15m bid for highly-rated Valencia full-back Jordi Alba.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already announced his intention to allow Fabio Da Silva to leave the club on loan next season, leaving United with just one recognised left-back.

The Red Devils manager apparently sees the Spanish international as an ideal long-term replacement for Patrice Evra.

United have sent scouts to watch Alba in recent weeks, but supposedly face competition for his signature from neighbours Manchester City.

The 23-year-old has made three appearances for the national side.
