Report: David Silva close to new Manchester City deal

Manchester City midfielder David Silva is reportedly close to agreeing a new five-year contract with the Premier League champions.

The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, but the Spaniard is understood to be close to agreeing fresh terms.

According to Goal.com, the contract will be worth £190,000 a week to the former Valencia man, with his current contract due to expire in 2014.

Silva scored eight goals for City last season.
