Report: Man City to launch £200m Mbappe bid

Manchester City are planning to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record transfer, according to a report.

The Citizens are said to be prepared to go as high as £200m with their offer for the French World Cup winner, surpassing the £198m PSG paid to sign Neymar from Barcelona last year.

Mbappe is a long-term target for City boss Pep Guardiola, who wants the 19-year-old in his squad for the latter stages of this season's Champions League.

The Sun suggests that the Premier League champions are willing to pay Mbappe £20m a year in wages, although a player - likely Raheem Sterling - will have to be sold to help balance the books.

UEFA announced earlier this month that it is probing PSG's finances as part of a Financial Fair Play investigation, with the Ligue 1 giants potentially being put under pressure to cash in on their prized asset.
