Report: Manchester City closing in on Villarreal youngster Aleix Garcia

A report claims that Manchester City are close to signing Villarreal younger Aleix Garcia, with the 18-year-old due in England for talks on Tuesday afternoon.

Manchester City are reportedly close to signing Villarreal's 18-year-old midfielder Aleix Garcia.

The Spaniard made his first-team debut for the Yellow Submarine on the final weekend of last season, while he has also made 10 appearances for Villarreal's B team.

According to Goal.com, Man City have beaten a host of clubs to Garcia's signature and the teenager will arrive in England on Tuesday afternoon to pen a long-term deal.

The same report claims that the youngster could end up costing the Premier League side £2m depending on his progress over the next couple of seasons.

Garcia, who joined Villarreal in 2005, has also scored twice in two caps for Spain's Under-18 side.
