Report: Fabian Delph to have Manchester City medical

Fabian Delph is reportedly close to undergoing a Manchester City medical ahead of his proposed £8m move from Aston Villa.

The England midfielder and Villa captain has been linked with a move to the Etihad after reports suggested that his buyout clause had been activated by the former Premier League champions.

City have allegedly already agreed terms with the 25-year-old and Delph will have his medical over the weekend, according to Sky Sports News.

Delph made 32 appearances for the West Midlands club last season and only recently signed a five-year deal with Villa back in January.

The midfielder has scored eight goals in over 100 appearances for Villa since signing for the club from Leeds United in 2009.
