Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy reveals that he wants to sign both Cardiff City midfielder Emyr Huws and Manchester City winger Bersant Celina.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has acknowledged that he is looking to sign midfield duo Emyr Huws and Bersant Celina.

Both players have Manchester City connections, with Celina currently contracted to the Premier League giants and Huws having started his career at the Etihad Stadium before eventually ending up at Cardiff City.

Huws spent a spell on loan at Portman Road last season and McCarthy has described him as "outstanding" during that period, while he is also a fan of Celina, who he is looking to sign on loan.

The 58-year-old told BBC Radio Suffolk: "We've been looking for a replacement for Tom Lawrence - no pressure on him there, player of the year in every department.

"He's a similar type, right-footed left winger and can play in behind the striker."

Celina scored five times in 27 appearances for FC Twente in the Eredivisie during the last campaign.
