Roberto Mancini denies Maicon interest

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has denied claims that he is preparing a bid for Inter Milan full-back Maicon.

Mancini signed Maicon six years ago while he was in charge at the San Siro and, earlier this week, the player's agent said that the Italian was chasing the 31-year-old again this summer.

"I don't know. I bought Maicon when he was at Inter, but now he is an Inter player," said Mancini.

"No [interest], not at the moment."

Maicon has been capped 66 times at senior international level, scoring six goals.
