Premier League champions Manchester City reportedly join Barcelona in the race to sign Atalanta BC left-back Robin Gosens.

Premier League champions Manchester City have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign Atalanta BC left-back Robin Gosens.

The 26-year-old has been a standout performer for the Serie A side in recent seasons and his form has been recognised at international level, with Joachim Low handing him four German caps for the national team.

Barcelona are believed to be preparing an offer for Gosens, however Spanish outlet Sport claims that City have now registered their interest in the defender.

The report also states that the Italian outfit will only consider selling their star player if a bid in the region of £35m were to be tabled by any interested parties.

City will only make an offer for Gosens this summer if they can make room in the left-back position with a sale.

Gosens enjoyed a brilliant 2020-21 campaign for Atalanta, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.
