Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona's Sergi Roberto ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Manchester City have reportedly informed Barcelona that they are interested in signing Sergi Roberto during this summer's transfer window.

The Spain international has spent his entire professional career at Camp Nou, making 273 appearances for the club in all competitions, including 29 outings during the 2019-20 campaign.

Roberto came through the ranks as a central midfielder but has largely been used as a right-back in recent seasons.

The 28-year-old's current deal with the Spanish champions is due to expire in two years, and Juventus have recently been credited with an interest in his services.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the Premier League champions are also considering an approach for the versatile Spaniard ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The report claims that City made Barca aware of their interest when the two clubs were discussing a potential swap for Nelson Semedo and Joao Cancelo.

Roberto has won six La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues during his time in the first team at Camp Nou.
