Vincent Kompany: 'I would be so happy if Kevin De Bruyne joined Manchester City'

Kompany wants De Bruyne at Eastlands

Vincent Kompany has revealed that he would be delighted if his "phenomenal" Belgium teammate Kevin De Bruyne joined him at Manchester City.

De Bruyne has been linked with a big-money move to Eastlands after enjoying a fine season with Wolfsburg last term, scoring 16 times and bagging 27 assists.

"Kevin is a phenomenal talent. He's a game-changer, he's efficient in front of goal but he's also a great passer, which is probably his biggest quality," Kompany told Goal.com.

"I try not to influence too much but I do recognise the fact that he's an unbelievable talent and any team he goes to, he will make that team stronger.

"If he comes to City, I would be one of the happiest guys in the team. But it's not my call and it's his decision to make."

The 23-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea and was sold to the Bundesliga outfit in January 2014, having initially joined the club on loan the previous August.
