Kevin De Bruyne signs new Man City deal

Manchester City have announced that midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has committed his long-term future to the club by penning a new contract.

For a number of weeks, reports have suggested that De Bruyne was ready to accept City's offer of a five-and-a-half-year deal after starring during the club's current Premier League campaign.

City have now confirmed that the Belgian international has extended his stay at the Etihad Stadium until 2023, and the playmaker has acknowledged that he is delighted to have agreed fresh terms with Pep Guardiola's side.

The 26-year-old told the club's official website: "As I've said previously, my intention has always been to stay here at City, where I've felt at home from day one.

"Not only are we winning – we are playing great football. It's a pleasure to be a part of and I'm really excited about what we can achieve in the coming years."

Since City spent £55m to complete a deal with Wolfsburg in August 2015, De Bruyne has netted 31 goals in 122 appearances in all competitions.
