Ilkay Gundogan 'to sign new City deal'

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will reportedly sign a new deal with the club.

The 27-year-old, who joined Pep Guardiola's team in 2016 from Borussia Dortmund, struggled with injuries in his first season but helped City to a domestic double of trophies last term.

According to The Sun, Guardiola is keen to tie Gundogan down to fresh terms at the club, despite there being two years left on his current deal.

The newspaper adds that the German international is allegedly happy with his £100,000-per-week wage, and is not intent on securing a pay rise.

Gundogan, who is at the World Cup finals in Russia, has scored four goals in 26 appearances for Joachim Low's national team.
