Everton eye Gareth Barry loan?

Everton are reportedly interested in loaning Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry.

Everton are reportedly lining up a loan move for Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry.

The former England international has found himself on the fringes of the City team so far this season.

According to Sky Sports News, Roberto Martinez is looking at bringing Barry to Goodison Park on a temporary basis.

The arrival of Fernandinho and the return to fitness of Jack Rodwell have meant that Barry has been pushed down the pecking order under new City boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Arsenal and Aston Villa were reported to be interested in offering him an escape route, ahead of next year's World Cup in Brazil, and it now seems that Everton are also interested in giving the 32-year-old some first-team football.

Barry joined City for £12m in 2009.
