Manchester City are reportedly pushing for the signing of AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, who is valued at over £57m by the Rossoneri.

Manchester City have reportedly earmarked AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders as a serious summer target.

The 26-year-old could be joining the Citizens, who supposedly need to offload three first-team stars in order to facilitate a switch for the Milan man.

Man City have endured a difficult top-flight campaign so far and are not guaranteed Champions League football during 2025-26 as the term draws to a close.

Speaking of draws, the Citizens were forced to share the honours at Southampton on Saturday afternoon, when the hosts did not manage a shot on target.

Heading into the final two matches of the top-flight schedule, Pep Guardiola's troops are occupying fourth spot in the Premier League standings, two points ahead of Aston Villa in sixth.

Man City make Reijnders serious target?

According to The Telegraph, former Premier League champions Man City are making strides towards a serious improvement in the middle of the park.

The report claims that the Citizens have earmarked AC Milan star Reijnders as a 'serious target' ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is understood that the Rossoneri are keen to retain the services of Reijnders, although they are willing to listen to offers from potential suitors.

AC Milan are said to want more for the sale of the Dutchman than the £55m that they earned off the back of Sandro Tonali's transfer to Newcastle United.

Kaka switched San Siro for Real Madrid in a deal worth £57m, and it is believed that a Reijnders departure would involve figures eclipsing that of the Brazilian's.

Man City's midfield situation

After four straight Premier League titles between 2020 and 2024, the successful core of Man City over recent years is beginning to rot with old age.

Kevin de Bruyne is set to leave the blue side of Manchester at the end of the season, while the likes of Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan have seen their influences wane.

As a result, Guardiola is in the market for a new midfielder, with AC Milan playmaker Reijnders one of the top engine-room operators in European football at the moment.
