Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristain believes that the signing of Jesus Navas will add another dimension to the club's squad.

Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristain believes that new signing Jesus Navas will be a "gift" to the club.

The Spaniard completed his move to the Etihad Stadium earlier this week for a fee in the region of £15m from Sevilla.

Begiristain told Sky Sports News: "I told him how far away from home he was going to feel. I could not have pictured a more grim picture. I had to be sure.

"But to everything I said the response was the same - more excitement and enthusiasm for the challenge.

"He is an absolute gift for us. He goes past people and stretches teams. He will give us something we don't have."

Navas is currently with the Spain squad at the Confederations Cup.
