Manchester City will reportedly allow Sergio Aguero to leave on his own terms after he beat Thierry Henry's record of most Premier League goals by a foreign player.

Manchester City will reportedly allow Argentine striker Sergio Aguero to leave the club on his own terms, with the former Atletico Madrid man's contract set to expire at the end of next season.

Aguero overtook Thierry Henry on Sunday as the most prolific foreign player to play in the Premier League when he scored a hat-trick in City's 6-1 win over Aston Villa.

According to the Daily Mail, City will allow Aguero to make the decision about his future and do not want to be seen to be preparing for his departure while he remains a key player.

The report adds that the club's hierarchy have begun identifying potential replacements privately, with Harry Kane and Lautaro Martinez said to be of interest.

Aguero has now scored 177 goals in 255 Premier League games, two more than the 175 goals managed by former Arsenal striker Henry.

The 31-year-old joined City from Atletico in 2011 and has won 12 domestic trophies in that period.
