Yaya Toure plans "long" Man City stay

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has insisted that he wants to repay the club's loyalty towards him by staying for a "long" time.

The Ivorian was the subject of interest from Inter Milan last season, with former City manager Roberto Mancini very keen to take him to Serie A.

However, the 32-year-old confirmed that he intends to stay at the club for the remainder of his contract, which runs until 2017.

He is quoted by the Manchester Evening News as saying: "The fans are doing brilliant for this club. When people show you loyalty, nothing is going by. That's why I want to stay at City. I want to stay long."

Toure scored 12 goals last season.
