Carlos Tevez apologises to Manchester City

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez apologises to the club over his recent actions following a well-publicised fall-out with manager Roberto Mancini.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has apologised to the club over his recent actions following a well-publicised fall-out with manager Roberto Mancini.

The Argentine returned to Manchester last week following a three-month exile in his native land.

"I wish to apologise sincerely and unreservedly to everybody I have let down and to whom my actions have caused offence," Tevez said in a statement.

Tevez was heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in January, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain all interested.

However a move failed to materialise and he now insists that his focus is on returning to action with City.

"My wish is to concentrate on playing football for Manchester City Football Club," he added.

Tevez could yet play a key role in City's push for Premier League honours, although he is poised to undergo a strict fitness regime specially set up by the club before returning to the field.
