Fernandinho tips Raheem Sterling to cope with critics

New Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has the character to deal with the intense scrutiny he faces following his move to the club, according to Fernandinho.

Sterling joined the former Premier League champions for £49m from Liverpool earlier this summer at the end of a controversial saga, which lasted several months.

However, Fernandinho insists that the move will be a success.

He is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News: "I think he is a strong character with the right personality. I remember seeing him in an interview talking about his determination to win trophies and I'm sure he will be able to manage the situation."

Sterling could make his City debut at West Bromwich Albion tonight.
