Manchester City playmaker David Silva gives Roberto Mancini his full backing and insists that the whole squad are behind their manager.

Manchester City playmaker David Silva has praised Roberto Mancini, insisting that the squad fully appreciate their manager.

There is plenty of speculation surrounding Mancini's future at the Etihad Stadium, with many reports suggesting that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Silva has given Mancini his full backing and admits that he is unsure why the Italian doesn't get any credit for his success.

"I don't know why Mancini doesn't get credit, but the players certainly appreciate him," the Spain international told reporters. "We are with him and together we are a team.

"The players give him all the credit for being part of the success we have achieved. That success has been done together. All managers are different. Some criticise players more publicly, while others do it inside the club. For me, it is each to their own.

"We are building a team and a club and we will win many, many more titles."

City are currently 12 points behind Manchester United in the Premier League table.
