Uwe Rosler: 'Joe Hart will bounce back for Manchester City'

Manchester City legend Uwe Rosler is convinced that Joe Hart will bounce back from being dropped by Manuel Pellegrini and reclaim his starting spot from Costel Pantilimon.

Uwe Rosler is convinced that Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart will regain his starting berth under manager Manuel Pellegrini because he is the "best goalkeeper in England".

The 26-year-old has not featured for the former Premier League champions since the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in October, where his error gifted Fernando Torres the opportunity to steal the points in the dying seconds.

Costel Pantilimon has deputised in the absence of the England international since but Rosler - who enjoyed a four-year spell with the Sky Blues - insists that it is only a matter of time before Hart reclaims his starting spot due to his "undoubted" talent.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, the current Brentford manager said: "Joe has to understand he is accountable and his performance level has to step up, but he will do that – there is no question about it.

"Joe Hart is undoubtedly the best goalkeeper in England and he has shown that in the past.

"Manchester City should be very privileged to have England's number one. I can't see anyone really challenging him."

Despite being dropped at club level, Hart has retained his selection at international level under Roy Hodgson, who elected to play the shot-stopper in Tuesday's clash with Germany at Wembley.
