Manuel Pellegrini: 'We're hoping for lots of goals'

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini admits that he is hoping to see "a lot of goals" in the Manchester derby.

Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that Manchester City are hoping to see "a lot of goals" during the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

The league leaders travel to neighbours Manchester United on Sunday, having scored 11 goals in their last two Premier League outings, but will be missing top scorer Sergio Aguero, who has a hamstring injury.

The manager told reporters: "You never know, we hope to see a lot of goals, the most important things is to win the game. There are different ways to try to win, I think we have one, I hope for fans it's a good show and a good game.

"I think that our team, if you remember last season, we had a lot of different ways to play. Last season we had the four strikers injured and we plays with Milner and he scored two goals I think in two of three games and our team scored 15 goals without strikers. We have players with characteristics that can play different ways, and every one of them can score."

Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick in last week's win over Bournemouth.
