James Milner has insisted that Manchester City do not take any team lightly, following the recent criticism aimed at the Premier League champions by Paul Scholes.
Ahead of the Manchester derby, which City won 1-0, Scholes suggested that Manuel Pellegrini's side could be arrogant in their approach to some games, but Milner has refuted those claims.
When asked about the comments, the City midfielder, who is expected to play in Wednesday's Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow, told reporters: "We go out there with a gameplan, and if we hit our standards we can beat anyone - we've proved that.
"We've not been at our strongest over the last few weeks, and the players know that. It's down to us to change that, and the derby win will go a long way to changing it.
"We didn't play as well as we can, but it was all about the win."
City are looking for a first win in the Champions League this season against CSKA on Wednesday.
