Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini reveals that he will hand striker John Guidetti a chance to impress before the end of the season.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has insisted that striker John Guidetti is "one or two months" away from featuring in the Manchester City squad.

Guidetti has been promoted to City's fourth-choice striker after they failed to buy a replacement for Mario Balotelli, and while Mancini believes Guidetti is not ready to play immediately, he hinted that the Swedish forward will feature before the end of the season.

Mancini told reporters: "John is in training with us every day but he is not ready to play at this moment.

"He needs one or two months but, when he gets the chance to play, we will get him."

The 20-year-old scored 20 goals in 23 appearances during a loan spell with Feyenoord last season.
