Vincent Kompany pleased with new Manchester City signings

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has revealed how impressed he has been with the club's new signings ahead of the new season.

City begin their Premier League campaign tomorrow against Newcastle United, with a host of new faces anticipating their debuts.

The Belgian defender has been impressed with the likes of Stevan Jovetic, Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas, both on and off the pitch.

"I am really pleased with the kind of players we have got in," Kompany told reporters. "They are not just great players, but great characters.

"Already the new players have done some unbelievable stuff in pre-season, not just in games but in training as well."

City take on the Magpies at 8pm on Monday evening.
