Erling Braut Haaland looking to break another Premier League record versus Wolves

Haaland looking to break another PL record versus Wolves

Erling Braut Haaland will have another Premier League record in his sights when Manchester City play Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed an astonishing start to life at the Etihad Stadium, contributing a total of 13 goals from just eight starts in all competitions.

As many as 10 of those strikes have come in the Premier League, writing his name in the division's history books along the way.

Haaland initially became the first player in Premier League history to score nine goals in his opening five outings in the competition, surpassing the previous mark of eight strikes by Micky Quinn and Man City legend Sergio Aguero.

The Norway international also netted back-to-back hat-tricks against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace respectively, obliterating the previous record held by Demba Ba who had taken 21 matches to register the same feat.

In the final domestic game before the international break, Haaland will now attempt to add his name to the history books for the third time.

The former Borussia Dortmund man will be looking to become the first player to score in his first four away outings in the Premier League.

Haaland started his current streak with a double away at West Ham United on the opening weekend of the season before chipping in with a vital strike during the 3-3 draw at Newcastle United later that month.

Although Haaland had been bidding to become the first player to score three successive hat-tricks in the next away fixture at Aston Villa, his close-range effort in the second half kept this particular streak going.

Man City make the trip to Molineux with at exactly half of their 20 goals in the Premier League this season being scored by Haaland.

The defending champions have also contributed five more strikes than any other team in the top flight.
