Fabian Delph has revealed his excitement about his future at Manchester City as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
The England international, who moved to the Etihad Stadium from Aston Villa last month, picked up the injury against Real Madrid in his first appearance for the club, but he insists that the problem has not affected his mood ahead of the new campaign.
"It's not the best debut but things can only get better from there," the midfielder admitted at an event for City fans on Wednesday.
"I'm feeling great now, my recovery is going well and we've got a great medical team here. I'm flying at the minute so I'm looking forward to coming back.
"I'm really excited as it's every boy's dream to play in the Champions League. I've been given the opportunity to come here and do that. Hopefully we can do well in it and I can keep pushing on."
Delph's teammates will start the season with a trip to West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
