Manchester City 'deny interest' in Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone

Manchester City reportedly deny being interested in Atletico Madrid's Argentinian manager Diego Simeone.

Manchester City have reportedly insisted that they are in no way interested in poaching head coach Diego Simeone from Atletico Madrid.

The 44-year-old is said to be on a City wishlist of potential candidates to replace Manuel Pellegrini with the club set to go trophyless this season.

However, any chance City or another club had of luring the Argentinian away from the Vicente Calderon took a hit earlier today when he signed a new contract until 2020.

According to PA, City have denied any interest in Simeone or proposing an offer to the former midfielder.

Last season he led Atletico to the La Liga title and the final of the Champions League.
