Argentinian government back Carlos Tevez

Argentinian government back Tevez

Under-fire striker Carlos Tevez has received support from the governor of Buenos Aires.

Daniel Scioli, the most important politician in Argentina behind President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, has slammed the "ungrateful" Citizens faithful and accused them of offending not just Tevez, but Argentina as a whole.

"I believe in Carlitos and we want him back in Argentina," he said. "It's so unfair what Man City is doing with him. The fans who are throwing their Tevez shirts into the trash are disrespectful people.

"They are offending Tevez, but they are also offending Argentina. They are ungrateful people. Tevez has done so much for them, and now they are treating him like this."

The former Boca Juniors star has been linked with a move back to Brazilian club Corinthians, while Tottenham have also admitted interest.
