Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor will earn £1.4m if he stays at the North London club beyond January, according to a report.
The Togo international joined Spurs from Manchester City last year and, as part of the deal, the North-West club are subsidising part of the forward's £170,00-a-week wages.
The Mirror reports that if Spurs are unable to offload the hitman in the January transfer window, then they will have to pay City £1.4m as part of the deal that brought him to White Hart Lane. The payment will, in turn, end up back with Adebayor via the Eastlands outfit.
The 29-year-old is on the bench as Spurs travel to Man City today.
