Man City injury, suspension news and return dates for Fulham clash: Kovacic, Stones, Ake latest

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of their final Premier League game of the season against Fulham on Sunday.

Manchester City travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in their final Premier League fixture of the 2024-25 season on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side bounced back from their disappointing FA Cup final defeat by securing a 3-1 top-flight victory against Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night to strengthen their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

The Citizens currently sit third in the Premier League table and know that victory over Fulham will secure a top-five finish. However, they will have to cope without a few first-team players.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up their latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Marco Silva's side.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

John Stones has been sidelined with a thigh injury since February. He is yet to be pictured in training and there appears to be no change to his situation, meaning he is likely to miss out again this weekend and will hope to recover in time for this summer's FIFA Club World Cup.

Nathan Ake

Status: Minor doubt
Type of issue: Fitness
Possible return date: (May 25 vs. Fulham)

After undergoing a foot operation in March, Nathan Ake made a welcome return to the matchday squad against former club Bournemouth. The defender watched on as an unused substitute and it remains to be seen whether he is ready to make an appearance in some capacity this weekend.

Mateo Kovacic

Mateo Kovacic will miss the match against Fulham after he was shown a straight red card in the midweek win over Bournemouth.

Had he not been dismissed, the midfielder would have been an injury doubt anyway, as reports from his native Croatia have suggested that he has been dealing with a persistent heel problem.
