Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Swindon Town

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Swindon

Manchester City's quest for FA Cup glory begins on Friday night with a trip to Swindon Town in the third round.

Pep Guardiola's men scraped past Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates in Saturday's Premier League battle, with Riyad Mahrez and Rodri responding to Bukayo Saka's opener.

The Citizens are riding off into the sunset in the English top flight, but their FA Cup run was brought to an end by Chelsea in the semi-finals last season.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man City's injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

John Stones

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Fitness Possible return date: January 7 (vs. Swindon)

John Stones has been struggling to hit full fitness in recent weeks and was not involved in the New Year's Day win over Arsenal, so it remains to be seen if he will be given the green light to play on Friday.

Phil Foden

Status: Out Type of injury: Coronavirus Possible return date: Unknown

Phil Foden is reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 before the encounter with Arsenal and will therefore sit out this game as well.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Out Type of injury: Coronavirus Possible return date: Unknown

As is the case with Foden, Oleksandr Zinchenko has reportedly also contracted coronavirus and is highly unlikely to be ready for the trip to Swindon as well.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Benjamin Mendy

Possible return date: Unknown

Subject to a police charge, Benjamin Mendy remains suspended by the Citizens as he awaits trial in the summer.
