Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg with Atletico Madrid.

Manchester City will be forced to cope without Kyle Walker for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Atletico Madrid at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

The right-back will serve the third and final game of a three-match European ban following his sending off against RB Leipzig in the group stage - an act labelled "stupid" by Pep Guardiola.

Fellow defender Ruben Dias will also be unavailable due to his serious hamstring injury, while Cole Palmer (ankle) has suffered a setback in his recovery but was never likely to start here.

Walker's absence should see Joao Cancelo shift across to his formerly familiar right-back role, with Oleksandr Zinchenko returning to the left-hand side of the Citizens' defence.

Nathan Ake was on form for City against Burnley on Saturday, but John Stones was fit enough to make the bench at Turf Moor and may be preferred at the back alongside Aymeric Laporte.

Ilkay Gundogan's goal on Saturday may not be enough to see him keep his place over Bernardo Silva, who ought to link up with Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne in a familiar engine room.

Riyad Mahrez was also named among the substitutes at Turf Moor but is eyeing a recall to the final third over Jack Grealish, while Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling will both aim to hold their spots.

Man City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Cancelo, Laporte, Stones, Zinchenko; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling
