Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has admitted that the Bundesliga side made too many mistakes against Manchester City in their 3-2 defeat in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Neuer said that all three of the English side's goals were avoidable, but was relieved that Bayern managed to stay top of the group even after losing.
"We made a lot of unforced errors," UEFA.com quotes Neuer as saying. "We could have done better on all the goals we conceded. Unfortunately we lost our hold on the game and we have only got ourselves to blame.
"Still, it was not the worst defeat ever. It would have been a lot worse if we had conceded a fourth [and gone through in second place only]."
Neuer, 27, has been capped 44 times by Germany.
