Vincent Kompany 'travels with Manchester City for Champions League clash'

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has reportedly been included in the club's travelling squad for their Champions League clash against Viktoria Plzen.

The Belgium international, who has been sidelined since the first game of the season with a groin injury, was predicted to be out of action until October.

However, Kompany has boarded the plane to the Czech Republic, suggesting that he may play a part in the European group-stage game, according to BBC Sport.

City begin their Champions League campaign this week following last season's attempts that ended with the club failing to secure a single victory.
