Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Copenhagen

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Copenhagen

Manchester City will be looking to maintain their 100% start in the Champions League group stage when they welcome Copenhagen to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Citizens extended their winning streak across all competitions to four matches with an emphatic 6-3 Premier League victory at home against arch rivals Manchester United last weekend, with Erling Braut Haaland and Phil Foden both scoring memorable hat-tricks.

Pep Guardiola's side are unbeaten from their opening 10 fixtures in all tournaments this term, including successive Group G wins over Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund last month.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's contest with their Danish counterparts.

Kalvin Phillips

Status: Out Type of injury: Shoulder Possible return date: Unknown

Kalvin Phillips underwent successful shoulder surgery last month and is expected to remain sidelined until November, with Guardiola hopeful that the England international will recover in time for the World Cup.

John Stones

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: October 11 (vs. Copenhagen)

Stones sustained a hamstring problem whilst on international duty with England at the end of last month and the defender subsequently missed the Manchester derby.

Guardiola stated before Sunday's win that the 28-year-old will spend between 10 days and two weeks on the sidelines.

Rodri

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: October 5 (vs. Copenhagen)

Guardiola revealed that Rodri picked up an injury in the final training session before last weekend's derby win, and it remains to be seen whether the Spaniard will be involved against Copenhagen.

Kyle Walker

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Lower leg Possible return date: October 5 (vs. Copenhagen)

Kyle Walker limped off towards the end of the first half against Man United with a lower leg issue, and Guardiola has since confirmed that the Englishman is set to miss out on Wednesday.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no suspended players for this match.
