Remi Garde praises whole Lyon squad following Europa victory

Lyon coach Remi Garde has offered his congratulations to the whole of his squad as they progressed into the next round of the Europa League with a victory over FC Chornomorets Odesa.

The French side grabbed the 1-0 aggregate win, thanks to a strike from in-form frontman Alexandre Lacazette, in an otherwise uneventful game at the Stade de Gerland.

"It's very satisfying. Congratulations to the whole squad, because a lot of players took part over the two legs," Garde told reporters after the game.

"Everyone could see that this Ukrainian side were very hard to move around, which shows that we performed well, especially in the first leg.

"Both sides gave everything they had, and even a man down, Chornomorets were still dangerous."

Lyon will now face FC Viktoria Plzen in the next round of the tournament.
