Toni Silva joins Barnsley

Portuguese winger Toni Silva has completed a move from Liverpool to Championship outfit Barnsley.

The 18-year-old, who failed to make a single appearance for the club's first team after joining in 2009, has left with the club's best wishes.

"Liverpool can today confirm Toni Silva has completed a transfer to Barnsley, subject to confirmation from the relevant footballing bodies. Everyone at LFC would like to wish Toni all the very best for the future," a statement read on the club's official website.

Silva spent last season on loan at Northampton Town.
