Report: Liverpool step up pursuit of Leicester City's Ben Chilwell

Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell is seen by Liverpool as the ideal man to replace Alberto Moreno at left-back, according to a report.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly made Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell his top target to replace Alberto Moreno next season.

The German is thought to be a long-time admirer of the youngster, who has yet to actually make an appearance in the Premier League

Chilwell spent time on loan at Championship side Huddersfield Town for the first half of the Foxes' memorable campaign, while being restricted to cup appearances upon his return to the Midlands.

According to The Sun, Klopp is hoping to rebuild Liverpool this summer by bringing in a number of new faces, with a replacement for full-back Moreno said to be his main priority.

It is claimed that £3m-rated Chilwell is seen as the ideal long-term option in that position, after Moreno was heavily criticised for his display in the Anfield outfit's 3-1 Europa League final defeat in midweek.

Leicester want to keep hold of the England Under-21s international, however, while Arsenal have also been linked with a summer move.
