Michael Owen future revealed on Wednesday?

Former England striker Michael Owen has hinted that he could announce on Wednesday where he will next play his football.

The 32-year-old has been without a club since being released by Manchester United at the end of last season and has been linked with a move to Stoke City as well as a return to Liverpool.

However, Owen has fuelled speculation that he may be nearing a move after tweeting a picture of his boots and shin pads accompanied by a caption saying: "The tools of my trade are stacked and ready to go!"

After Marseille midfielder Joey Barton replied with, "Where u off mate?", Owen responded with: "I will tell you on Wednesday!"

Owen has also played for Real Madrid and Newcastle United.
