Mario Gotze "open" to leaving Bayern Munich amid Liverpool interest

Mario Gotze admits that he is "open" to leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season amid reports that Liverpool are interested in signing him.

Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze has revealed that he will make a decision regarding his future at the Allianz Arena when the season ends.

The German World Cup winner has been linked with a £37.2m move to Liverpool, where he would reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

Gotze, who has been out of action since October with a groin injury, spent four years under Klopp's guidance in Dortmund before he signed for their Bundesliga rivals in 2013.

Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer has described the rumours as "nonsense", but Gotze has claimed that he will consider his future once he speaks to new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

"Everything is still open," Gotze told Bild. "We will see how things go at the end of the season. I have a contract until June 2017, but of course, it is important how the new coach feels about me. The coach's plans are decisive in the end.

"So we will just have to wait and see how things pan out. I have not really given my future much thought recently because of my injury, but everything is open as things stand. It all depends on the plans of the club and the new coach."

Ancelotti, who has been out of work since getting sacked by Real Madrid last year, will replace Pep Guardiola in the summer.
