Liverpool to make move for Southampton's Jay Rodriguez?

Liverpool are reportedly pondering a move for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.

There are fears that a number of the Saints' first-team stars could leave St Mary's following chairman Nicola Cortese's decision to resign from his post last night.

It has been suggested that manager Mauricio Pochettino could follow suit after he previously stated that he would have no reason to stay at the Premier League outfit if Cortese was not part of the club.

Liverpool will try to pry Rodriguez, who has scored eight goals in 18 league games, away from the club, according to the Daily Star.

The 24-year-old received a call-up to the England squad in November last year.
