Liverpool take Newport County youngster on trial

League Two side Newport County have confirmed that Ryan Poole has joined Liverpool on a week-long trial.

The 16-year-old has previously been the subject of interest from both Manchester United and Fulham.

However, the Merseysiders have stolen a march on other potential suitors by offering the defender the chance to make an impression at the club's Melwood training base.

Poole made his senior Newport debut at the age of 16 years and 94 days last September.
