Liverpool scout Rasmus Elm

Liverpool have reportedly sent scout Steve Hitchen to compile a report on AZ Alkmaar's Rasmus Elm.

The 24-year-old is believed to have caught the eye of a number of European clubs this season, scoring on 12 occasions from midfield.

The likes of Manchester United, AC Milan and Bayern Munich have all been linked with a move for the Swedish international, who is believed to be valued at around £7m by his Dutch employers.

However, it now appears that Liverpool have entered the race for his signature, according to reports in Holland.

Elm joined AZ in 2009 from Kalmar FF.
