Liverpool plot Jose Fonte swoop?

Liverpool are understood to be preparing a bid for Southampton captain Jose Fonte.

Liverpool are reportedly planning a summer move for Southampton captain Jose Fonte.

The 31-year-old is under contract until 2017, but it is thought that the Saints could be tempted into selling him.

Three Southampton players joined Liverpool at the start of the season, with Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren all making the switch.

Portuguese defender Fonte could now become the latest to swap St Mary's Stadium for Anfield, according to The Mirror.

Fonte, who joined the South Coast club from Crystal Palace in 2010, has made 42 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
