Liverpool reportedly offer forward Roberto Firmino a new deal following a resurgence for the Reds so far this season.

Liverpool are reportedly in talks with forward Roberto Firmino over a new deal.

Firmino's current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, but his form so far this campaign has seemingly convinced the club to retain his services.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have offered Roberto Firmino a new contract and are keen to keep hold of the Brazilian beyond next summer.

Talks are underway over a new deal, with the club offering a lower salary than Firmino's current agreement, which is believed to be worth around £180,000 a week.

Despite the arrival of Darwin Nunez from Benfica this summer, Firmino has started 16 out of his 21 appearances so far this season, remaining a stable, consistent figure that Jurgen Klopp has opted for ahead of Nunez and Diogo Jota.

During that time he has rediscovered his goalscoring touch, scoring seven in 13 Premier League games, whilst also assisting three times as well.

In all competitions, he has nine goals and four assists and is well on his way to beating his numbers from last season, when he was used more sparingly with Sadio Mane and Jota deputising in the central forward role.
